Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral:

One Park West, some fancy new apartment block, as viewed from below:

“Rachel” as Bee christened her:

To celebrate our familial battling of illness and recovery therefrom we went to Eaton Park on Sunday to take in the weak sunshine and get some much-needed fresh air. Here are pictures!
- I should probably head to bed rather than playing with the Wordpress beta. #
- Miri was a vomit comet last night. It was not pretty. #
- Oh-ho, that was a fun drive home! Two vomiting children accompanied the live Killers gig we were listening to. Nice. #
- Update from the house of vomit: Normality and humanity appear to be returning, albeit slowly. #
- Spoke too soon
# - Ok. I’ve had enough of being ill now thanks body. Any time you want to get better is fine by me. #
- Happy that I’ve finally eaten my first proper meal since Monday. Hooray! #
- needs about 2 more hours of sleep. I’m knackered. #
- In Wendling. I don’t really know where that is but they do have a Christmas fair with cakes! #
- How soon is too soon for Christmas stuff to be everywhere? Answer: now is too soon #
- 50% of remaining cakes now crushed
This will be a sad evening. # - Bee: “Miri is like a green hippo because she wouldn’t go to sleep and than she did” #
- http://twitpic.com/kuaq - At the park #
- Bee: “I need socks on” Me: “Not in bed you don’t” Bee: “Why are socks wrong?” #
- A blog post! I must be well again. #

No sooner had I referenced said illness then I go and get it again. Curse my weak constitution and easily infected children!
It all began after we spent last weekend in Aylesbury for Chloe’s Mum’s 50th birthday party. That evening I woke in the middle of the night to the sounds of Mirabelle coughing and choking, and looked over to her to see she was throwing up in her sleep. Which was not at all scary. I cleaned her and the cot up (which she slept right through somehow) only for it to happen again half an hour later. Poor little mite. Apart from that though she was otherwise fine, if a little disgruntled.
Jump to Monday night, neither child had eaten much for dinner so we sent off home from Aylesbury to Norwich. We’d been going about 15 minutes, it was raining and dark and cold. Miri was asleep and we were trying to get Bee to go off too:
Me: “Bee, it’s time for sleep”
Bee: “My tummy hurts”
Chloe: “That’s because you didn’t have enough dinner, just try and sleep OK?”
5 mins later…
Bee: <sfx> Hideous guttural noise
Us: “Shit”
Chloe starts the clean up and I pull over as soon as I can to assist. She’s covered in vomit as is her car seat but luckily not the car interior (much). A swift a clean-up as we can manage given the cold and rain and a change of clothes and we’re back on the road again, with Chloe now vigilantly watching and a pile of clothes surrounding Bee just in case.
10 mins later…
Miri: <sfx> Coughing
Us: “Crap”
Cue a repeat of the above, except as we were ready there’s less cleaning to be done. The rest of the journey was spent with Chloe in watch mode and me trying to get us home as fast as we can (legally) manage.
We get home, get the girls to bed, strip the car seat covers and start unpacking and then collapse in bed. Only for me to wake up at 4 or so and find myself feeling sick. Cue another bout of gastroenteritis for me followed by feeling much better by morning and then it getting about 10 times worse that night and me being up till 4am sleeping/vomiting and watching the US Election results come in to try and take my mind off it.
Since then I’ve been slowly recovering following a pattern of feeling alright by the evening then waking up at some ungodly hour feeling terrible again. I actually managed to eat a full day of proper meals on Saturday but promptly felt awful that night but as of now (wood being touched, fingers being crossed) I feel about 90% which is a very large improvement on last week. Yes, being me is just as much fun as you might imagine.
